Join us for this live, engaging class where we will be going over beneficial and functional behavior and life skills training. Topics covered include, but are not limited to: relationship building, communication, engagement, manners, loose leash walking, greetings, supportive training tools, etc. This class is for anyone with a puppy, new dog, or anyone who wants to change and grow their relationship with their dog!

Welcome!

I am looking forward to this class!

Class will meet once a week on Tuesday nights over Zoom for a live, engaging class where we will go over relationship building, life with dogs and how to teach our dogs life skills. While this class is discussion based, participants will need to put the time in during the week to practice different skills and behaviors for the following week’s discussion and will even be encouraged to submit videos of feedback and support from other participants (this is not a requirement, but is highly encouraged).

Topics and skills worked on and covered in class include, but are not limited to, relationship building, positive interactions, setting boundaries, being relevant to our dogs, engagement, supportive training tools, how to use food and treats, leash work, walking our dogs, state of mind, fulfilment, spatial pressure, greetings, manners, good behavior, handling, muzzle training, etc. This class is a combination of our Life Skills Class and our People Training and Foundation Class, set for people wanting to establish a good foundation with their puppy or dog as well as for anyone wanting to build and change the relationship and behavior with dogs they have had for years.

To be honest, I wasn’t sure how having an online dog training class would help people, but me and past clients have both been pleasantly surprised of the extent that online classes can have a positive impact and help implement change with ourselves and our dogs. After all—we are working hard to train the person to train the dog and discussions are a big part of that. I have also found that online training has other benefits as well, starting with the fact that all the training is centered around you implementing it in your home—where real life is lived with your dogs. Participants can send me videos of them working with their dogs in the home, showing me what it looks like when implemented in real life, not just the yard at my training facility. For clients with multiple dog households can find it helpful if they want to work multiple dogs at a time considering the class fee is for all the dogs in the household, not just one. This leaves this class a cost-effective option for those who want to work with multiple dogs. Also, this class is offering the consistency of meeting once a week to discuss progress, challenges, answer questions, go over new material and support you through training your dog at home. Like any other training program, you are going to get what you put into it.

While this class is online, there is still consistency and support of meeting once a week to ask questions and discuss progress. Included in this class are handouts, demonstration videos, the option to submit videos (this is highly encouraged), as well as a two-month membership to the class-which offers a Monthly Member’s Meeting and community forum for clients to take advantage of even after class ends to have some follow up support and community.
