Part 1: Tuesday, February 9th at 7:00pm, Part 2: Tuesday, February 23rd at 7:00pm
During this two part workshop challenge, we will be teaching our dogs how to be muzzled comfortably and confidently. This is a skill that is not only beneficial for dogs and people that need extra support for grooming, handling, vet visits, socialization, but for all dogs as it a good foundation skill to have. Often we think of muzzling only for aggression, but it can help fearful dogs and for confident dogs prepares them for in case there is ever a situation where they may need the support. We will also be working on physically being able to safely manipulate and guide our dogs and build confidence and trust in the relationship while doing so.
The physical manipulation we will be talking about can be anything from molding our dogs into a sit, or restraining them for nail trims. Because safety is such an important part of muzzling and manipulation, we will also be discussing how to read body language from our dogs. Participants in this workshop would benefit from both muzzling and manipulation, however, if you would like to only engage with one or the other, that is okay, too. This workshop is also a good foundation for our March workshop, which will be working on grooming and nail trimming.
This workshop will be held via Zoom. Once you enroll, you will have access to the links. Simply click on the scheduled links to join. Note: If you have never participated in a Zoom meeting, you may have to download the app.
