Description of Services

Keep In Mind/For Consideration:

  • For in person services, I need a paper copy proof of Rabies, Distemper and Bordetella vaccines as well as dogs must be current on a flea/tick preventative.

  • Check in for questions on puppy vaccinations. Training starts the moment you bring your puppy home, so sessions can even be done before bringing the puppy home.

  • Before working with me, get a feel for what my approach is, make sure our availability works together, read through schedule and what the descriptions of services you’re interested in, check out two week free membership to watch training videos and read through posts, etc.

  • Clients can hold Workshops and Meet Ups at their home or host at a different location.

  • Clients can do semi-private one on one sessions with friend’s and family members. Contact for price.

  • Scheduling changes monthly, please check current schedule for more information. Pricing may also be subject to change each month depending on changes to the services, etc.

Introductory Session

Pre-Requisite for Coaching and Classes, In Person or Virtual, $100 or Free

In this discussion based session, I introduce my approach to working and living with dogs, how my approach would apply to you and your dog, answer questions and give you some starting things to work on and/or take into consideration. Because I am not a traditional obedience-oriented trainer, I do this session so potential clients can get a feel for my approach, ask me questions and see if we are a good match for training. Dogs are members of our family and training can be such a personal choice. That is why it is so important to make sure my approach resonates with clients before moving forward. For these sessions I do not need to see the dog, as there is a lot to cover in a discussion format. However, if you would like me to meet your dog we can do an in person session. Clients participating virtually can send short video clips of every day life with their dogs and/or behaviors that they are struggling with before the session via email.  I can set up a one on one session with you and your dog for $100. I also offer free Group Sessions via Zoom periodically (check schedule).

Coaching & One on One

Private Lessons, $100/hour, $50/half hour

When working with me one on one we will explore behaviors, concepts and skills with you and your dog. Topics covered can include, but definitely are not limited to, relationship building, interactions we share with our dogs, state of mind, behavior modification (working on separation anxiety, aggression, reactivity), and life skills such as leash work, communication, handling, recall, obedience, etc.

These sessions can be done in person or live online via Zoom. If in person we can do these sessions at your home (travel fee of $1.00/mile for one way included), a neutral location (travel fee may be required), or at my facility outside of Chetek, Wisconsin. If online via Zoom, it is encouraged (but not required) that clients submit videos of them/their dog. Each session can be different and custom created around what the participant is hoping to work on and achieve with their dog(s).

Virtual Coaching Program, *Price Varies Depending on Duration

Our Virtual Coaching Program was designed to be flexible and to fit into your daily life. In this program, Jana works with you and your dog one on one on real life living, training and behavior modification. To start the program off, participants will message Jana (through Facebook messenger or WhatsApp) their goals with their dogs, questions and what they would like to work on. From there, on designated coaching days, Jana will reply with audio and written messages as well as sending handouts and videos when helpful. Jana will give participants an interaction, skill and/or behavior to work on and practice. Participants can send video, written or audio messages in reply throughout the program to receive feedback and support on.

Think of coaching as an ongoing conversation and support on working with and living with your dog. Ask questions, work on skills and build on behaviors. Because this program is one on one, it is all about what you need to work on with your dog to be successful.

Classes

Live Online Foundation EXPRESS Class

Pre-Requisite: Introductory Session (One on One or Group)

In this class we will be going over foundation concepts and skills via Zoom. Each class will have video demonstrations, handouts and time for questions. Each session is designed to go over one concept and skill, leaving clients with activities and challenges to work on during the week for skill building. Sessions are only 30 minutes long, so that the material is not overwhelming and to better fit into people’s busy schedules. Following each session there will be a 15 minute Q and A to address additional questions and/or to dive into topics a little deeper. Topics for this class include loose leash walking, spatial pressure, greetings/social interactions, handling and examination, recall and training. Clients are also welcome to send in videos of them working with their dogs for feedback and support. Register online.

Foundation Class (Live Online)

Pre-Requisite: Introductory Session (One on One or Group)

In each session of this relationship centered class we will be covering a skill as well as concept exploration.  Topics this class will be covering include, but aren’t limited to, our relationship with our dogs, interactions we share, emotional intelligence and regulation, communication skills, leash work, handling/prep for vet and grooming, socialization, and habits. After the session a replay will be available for participants, as well as handouts, demonstration videos, and some challenges to work on with your dog throughout the week. While this class is virtual, it is engaging and encourages participants to work with their dog throughout the week and submit videos and reflections/observations.

Life Skills Meet Ups, $20.00/$25.00

Pre-Requisite: Introductory Session (Private or Group)

In these in person group sessions, we are working on developing and building on the handler and dog’s life skills, such as loose leash walking, communication/spatial pressure, greetings, manners, handling, navigating a social environment, etc. This is not an obedience-oriented class, meaning obedience is not the focus (and sometimes isn’t allowed), but there may be some obedience worked on in the class. Instead, the focus is relationship, interactions, state of mind, fulfilment and developing skills to best support our dogs in different situations. While this class is mostly hands on work, there will also be discussion components to explore concepts and application of skills in real life with our dogs, since most of training happens when we are sharing life with our dogs. These sessions are $20 per handler and clients must pre-register for them as participants are limited.  Because clients pay per session, this allows for flexibility in schedule as well as having different participants for each session, which helps with socialization.

Games Meet Up, $20.00

Participants should be previous or current clients as we are working on building foundation skills.

Think of this as a game night with your dog—or game day, depending on what time the session is. In this session we will be integrating life skills and concepts with our dogs while keeping things light and fun by playing game such as Red Light Green Light, Tic Tac To, Musical Cones, Last Dog Downing, Life Skills Courses, etc. This class is designed to keep people and dogs engaged and have fun while learning.

**This class is for previous or current clients who have a foundation of skills, such as loose leash walking, spatial pressure, obedience, etc.

Recall & Relevance Meet Ups, $20

Pre-Requisite: Introductory Session (Free or Private) and Dog Evaluation

I am excited to offer this new Meet Up focusing on relevance and recall with our dogs! This class is set for current and past clients with Jana and dogs must be dog friendly, dog social or muzzled. If Jana does not know how your dog would do in a social setting there may an evaluation required before attending. This session is $20 with pre-registration required and participants will need to bring their own long line and treats (if dog is not food motivated, that is fine). Since this is an outdoor class, it is recommended to dress for the weather, including bug spray as needed/wanted. If the weather is rainy, the session will be cancelled. In this session, dogs will be on long lines and working on recall (come), building relevance and engagement with handlers as well as other skills. Electric collar training will also be covered in class, though it is not a requirement.

Workshops

These are custom group sessions that will vary on length, location, topic, price, in person or virtual, etc. depending on the individual workshop and how it is set up. Please reach out if you would like to set up a workshop.

Community

Socials, Free (may need paid evaluation)

Pre-Requisite: Check in before joining, as well as may need an evaluation

These off leash gatherings are a great way to provide a supportive and structured social outlet for dogs, giving them confidence and teaching them to appropriately navigate social environments with other people and dogs. While most dogs are off leash, some dogs do start off on leash, and/or muzzled. This class is great for all dogs, whether they are a social butterfly looking for a place to hang out with other dogs or if they are learning how to appropriately share space with other dogs. Dogs do need to have an evaluation in able to join. Socials are free, there is a charge for evaluation.

Get Togethers, Free

*Not required, but strongly encouraged to be current client and do an Introductory Session

In this free group session, we will be taking our dogs for a short walk and then doing some group activities. While it is not a requirement for you to be a client, it is highly recommended. Participants must be able to safely walk their dog on leash, have dogs current on vaccinations and flea/tick preventative. No registration is required for the event. In case of weather, cancellation will be posted on Facebook, but participants can also reach out to see if it is still planned (text would be best way to do so). **Location and times may vary, please check current schedule.

Open Training Sessions, Free

In these sessions, Jana will be hanging out and working dogs within a designated time frame. In that time frame, people are able to come in and work their dogs and practice skills. Participants can pop in for a short period of time, or stay the whole time, whatever they prefer. This is not a structured class, but essentially allowing people to use the space and have a socialization opportunity for their dogs.

Life Style Membership

No requirements, but recommend an Introductory Session

In this online membership, clients have full access to online training videos (resource library), past workshops, an online community forum (where they can post and comment) and live online Monthly Member’s Meetings where clients can ask questions, get help, get homework challenges, dive into concept exploration and just talk dogs! Monthly Member’s Meeting takes place on the third Wednesday of the month at 7:00pm via Zoom. This service is a great option for participants who have busy schedules and/or want to do things at their own pace, while still having the support of meeting once a month to go over different concepts, discuss goals and continue forward.
