How does virtual dog training work?

When COVID hit and we had to get creative about our dog training and working with clients, we decided to give virtual learning a try. I'm not going to lie, I was pretty skeptical and a little pessimistic about it. So much of what I do with dog training is based on feel and helping people develop that feel with their own dog through awareness and understanding. How could I do that virtually?

I'm embarrassed that I missed the obvious answer!

When I am working with clients, most of my training is people training!

I am working to teach the people! To help them learn more about their behavior, their dog's behavior, bringing an awareness to each other as individuals and their shared interactions, building on understanding.

So much of that is done through talking with the people.

And of course, I have videos I can send them in order to help. In my virtual classes, one on one sessions, workshops, whatever, I can screen share a video to give people a visual demonstration. If I don't have the exact video I need, because I am surrounded by dogs, I can often go out and make that video to help.

Clients are also encouraged to send me video clips for feedback of them working their dog, their dog or dogs in general, and just sharing life with their dog. I can give a lot of feedback when I get to see your dog in their natural environment or doing every day things.

And no, you don't have to be Speilberg to get me a beneficial video. ;)

So if you are wondering if working with me virtually can help your dog, I would feel pretty confident in saying there's a good chance it would really benefit you.
